Explore Bishop Arts: Emporium Pies

We are so excited to introduce you to one of the sweetest businesses in the Bishop Arts District! Emporium Pies makes “fine pies for fine folk,” and if you haven’t been there yet, we encourage you to get your fine self over for a slice today! We’re not one to play favorites, but we highly recommend the Ebony and Ivory (buttermilk chess pie with a chocolate hazelnut spread), Smooth Operator (French silk pie with a pretzel crust), and a wintertime special– Father Christmas (white chocolate peppermint cream pie in a dark chocolate cookie crust). Their pies change with the season, so even if you’ve visited once– you haven’t seen it all!

Hey neighbor! Thanks for sharing your story with us today! Tell us about Emporium Pies! What do you sell and where can we find you?

At Emporium Pies, we bake and sell delicious, homemade pies with a seasonal rotating menu. We have locations in Oak Cliff, Deep Ellum, Fort Worth and Downtown McKinney, Texas while also making local deliveries in the Dallas Metro area.

So many places to experience the sweetness of Emporium Pies! Tell us about the founders: who are they and what inspired them to start the business?

Mary and Megan started Emporium Pies in 2011 baking out of a commercial kitchen in the Cedars District and selling pies at Farmers Markets around the metroplex. The business grew from a shared love of baked goods and hospitality.

We’re so glad they teamed up! The results have been delicious! Where are you located?

We have 4 pie shop locations in the DFW area. Bishop Arts, Deep Ellum, McKinney, and Ft Worth.

The address of the Bishop Arts location is:

314 N Bishop Ave, Dallas, TX 75208

That’s catty-corner to MMC and just behind AJ Vagabonds! When did you open in the District?

Bishop Arts was our first brick and mortar shop, opened in September 2012.

Almost a decade! I remember when you first opened– it was such a tasty addition to the neighborhood! What are your hours?

We stay open a little later, daily, in the summer, so for now our hours are:

Sunday – Thursday: 11AM – 10 PM

Friday + Saturday: 11 AM – 11 PM

Everyone loves a late-night slice! How did you end up in Bishop Arts District?

We explored a number of different neighborhoods but fell in love with the unique community in the Bishop Arts District mixed with the perfect little house that Good Space was fixing up at the time.

It really is the perfect location! What’s your favorite Bishop Arts historical fact/ trivia?

We knew our Bishop Arts location was meant to be when we realized the business address, 314 N Bishop, is pi.

What a fun fact! We love your Pi Day challenge! If you want to get your free slice next March 14, start practicing the first 20 digits of Pi now! What’s one product you sell that everyone needs to try?

Everyone should try the Lord of the Pies. It’s one of our staples and a beautiful presentation of a classic apple pie.

We love a classic with a twist! Which Bishop Arts event is your favorite?

We love Christmas in July because we get to experience the Christmas pies for one day in the summer. Also, who doesn’t love Christmas festivities?

Christmas is the best– and we love your Christmas pies! Thanks so much for sharing your story with us today. We’re so glad to have you as a neighbor in the Bishop Arts District!

After your next shopping excursion at Mosaic Makers, be sure to check out Emporium Pies!  And check out some of our other favorite Bishop Arts neighbors!
