KATY SENSENIG SCHILTHUIS // FRESH OUT OF INK
Katy fell in love with Albert via snail mail at the age of 14 – hence her love for handwritten and heartfelt messages. In 2016, she launched paper and gift company Fresh Out of Ink, in Dallas, Texas. Fresh Out of Ink creates fun, quirky, and unique hand sketched goods: greeting cards, art prints, notepads, coffee mugs, tea towels, and more. Katy and Albert work to come up with the (sometimes crazy) ideas, and Katy illustrates every item. Together, they hope to spread love and laughter.
CARMEN ABERASTURI // LEMONGLAZE
Carmen has been making her entire life, but has always felt most at home with china paints and clay. She began her career painting china in her hometown of Lima, Peru. Now, instead of purchasing and painting on porcelain blanks, Carmen handforms each piece on the potter’s wheel using porcelain and stoneware clay. She loves the process of working with clay and leaving behind traces of workmanship: tool marks, oxide spots, and variations in the clay. Every piece tells it’s own story.
DANIELLE ALDRICH // ONDERKAST STUDIO
Danielle created Onderkast Studio, a letterpress boutique and design shop specializing in greeting cards, letterpress goodies, and custom work, in 2015. She works on a whim, and writes down ideas as they inspire her – then buckles down to pair them with fun illustrations and colors.
NOSHEEN IQBAL // NOSHII
Nosheen started Noshii in 2009 by doing retail installations, and began her product-based journey in 2014. She offers eco-friendly mixed media art – embroidery on wood – with meticulous and beautiful attention to detail. Each piece begins as a laser cut piece of wood. It’s then sanded, finished with coconut oil, and embroidered with colorful thread. Nosheen has an insane love for color, and works hard to choose the right color for each piece.
ALENA SAVERA // LENA VERA
After searching for months for high-quality, affordable modern jewelry – and having no luck – Alena started Lena Vera. She uses inspiration from her job in architecture to create both modern statement pieces and delicate pieces of jewelry for the modern woman. She used a 3D modeling software to design her jewelry, has it all laser-cut, and assembles by hand. Money from every Lena Vera purchase goes toward women’s education programs in third world countries.
KAT FRENCH // KAT FRENCH DESIGN
Kat loved art as a kid, but didn’t get serious about it until after college. Her business, Kat French Design, began as a freelance graphic design venture that turned into a greeting card line in 2015. Ever since, she’s been getting creative with cards, prints and noteapds, adding more to the line every year. Each design starts with a hand-drawn illustation that is then finessed and digitzed using a design software. All illustrations drawn by Kat either start on paper or a Wacom tablet.
JORDAN FLYNN // MOD + JO
Jordan got her start in jewelry-making while making gifts for her friends as a broke college student. She turned her hobby into a full-time job in 2016, launching Mod + Jo. Each of Jordan’s ideas goes from her mind to scrap paper to implementation. She loves the process of creating something out of nothing, and giving women confidence through wearable art.
RHONDA WARREN // COLOR BOX LETTERPRESS
Rhonda was a grahpic designer who accidentally aquired a letterpress. She got her start with Color Box Letterpress 13 years ago, and now operates as a company of 4: all whom work together to brainstorm, design, and letterpress print by hand. Color Box also specializes in custom work and wedding suites.
KATHARINE HARLOW // KEEKA COLLECTION
Katharine has always been fascinated with textiles from around the world. Time teaching English in Korea, plus a trip to South America, inspired her to create Keeka Collection in 2017 – home decor and accessories with a global flair. Katharine designs her products in Dallas, and works with a family in the Cusco region of Peru to source and handmake her products.
